Don't say it isn't agile enough, as with lv 4 atom engines it's both fast and agile. So starqueen seems to be very popular on this kind of stuff? Is it the best, or are there better ships for this stuff? And how about the Mule? I'm using it. Originally posted by Cennydd:I use a starqueen with laser rifles and even grenades. I normally go for the capture, unless I don't have enough Crew, or I start running out, which did happen 1 time, and in that case, I looted, and did a runner myself. TBH I've never looted, maybe I'm missing something, but I made so much cash so fast just using ships with big crews to cap 'ceptors, that there was really no point going after big targets due to death benefits.ĭeath benefits pissed me off at first, (now it's clear why they're there) but capturing tons of small ships with an over-powered Starqueen (started with Scout, then Bounder) made so much quick cash that it seemed pointless to try disabling big shps and trying to have enough cargo space to loot stuff.īTW: I always just use a single ship, fleets seem to over-complicate it. I expect in the future it might be balanced out, but that's one of the beauties of this 'little' game, anything is possible if you poke around and discover a way. You can make a fortune off ship parts so there needs to be a way to balance that out. I believe that one reason that it is as difficult as it is to keep "friendly" ships from destroying disabled pirates. If you're frustrated and just want to get there, I'll tell you, but if you like to game for it, I gave enough hints to get you there. (at least in my experience) There is a spot where you just lift off, cap a few, land sell, rinse repeat. easily amassed by just capping interceptors quickly and selling them. it's actually not! There's still a ton of challenge even after you have a net worth of 100's of mil credits. You'll leave with a fleet of shield beetles and wonder why the game is so easy. As soon as you can afford one, get it to Hai space and rake in the cash.

I use a starqueen with laser rifles and even grenades. It's almost a grind, but it's way more fun then trading and I can't stress enough how much of an absolute cash cow it becomes. sorry if that's a spoiler, but if you get there and spend some time figuring out where to do this, it's just a money factory after that. If you've found Hai space, it's unlimited cash, they don't interfere with petty human squabbles. Originally posted by TrueDeviL™:Cennydd - Thanks for the tips, I'll give it another try :) I have got a couple back so far, the best being worth around 3mil Credits, I can see it can be quite lucrative if you can keep the navy off of them. You can get enough to buy any ship you want in an hour or so, sometimes less, but it takes some practice. Keep at it, it is eventually the easiest and quickest way to amass sudden influxes of millions of credits. Maneuverability wins the day here! And believe or not, don't do too much damage! Those are just a couple things, ship choice is huge, but a whole topic on it's own. Sometimes you get lucky and capture something, the pirates then disable it leaving it sitting there as a disabled escort, that's awesome because the navy will leave it alone then. otherwise they'll just blow up your prize as soon as you capture it. If you get a Fury or Hawk coming along with a couple sparrows, blow up the sparrows.

You'll develop a sense of timing and start getting 2 or 3 or even more per try, but take what you have. It's better to get something then nothing.ĭon't get greedy, get one and run. Keep an eye on the radar, if you see the navy coming, just hold down J until all ships are ready and bail. if that's all there is (sparrows) it's still worth it. You may have to blow up a couple sparrows to capture a fury, just let them go. If they do approach, you have a little extra time. There is a point where even if the navy jumps in, they may decide it's too far and not come and disrupt things. (fight while trailing them along like a kite's tail) Eventually you'll get too far and they'll turn around, you'll just have to get a feel for that point. Establishing distance gives you a little more time.ĭraw the fight further out by 'kiting' the pirates. When the bad guys jump in, they'll head your way, if they don't, move a little closer.

I didn't beat the game in 23 minutes like some of these GawdAwesome gamers that love to tell people how n00bish they are for not figuring everything out in 4 minutes.įind a dead end system, Regulus works fine to start, and hang out a ways from the warp in point. it took me a long time to finally get it, I'm only ordinary.
